Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and patient Driving Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching new drivers the skills necessary to operate vehicles safely and confidently. This role involves providing clear instruction, fostering a positive learning environment, and ensuring students meet all licensing requirements. The Driving Instructor plays a vital role in helping individuals achieve their driving goals while promoting safe driving habits.
Duties
Conduct driving lessons for students of various skill levels in a safe and professional manner
Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student's needs and learning pace
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to improve driving skills
Prepare students for their driving tests by reviewing traffic laws, safety procedures, and practical skills
Maintain accurate records of lessons, student progress, and licensing requirements
Ensure all vehicles used for instruction are well-maintained, clean, and equipped with necessary safety features
Foster a positive, encouraging environment that builds confidence and promotes responsible driving behavior
Qualifications
Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably in a classroom or one-on-one setting
Strong communication skills to effectively convey instructions and feedback
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and build rapport with students
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
MTO In-Vehicle Driving Instructor license and Instructor Licence (as required by provincial regulations)
Minimum of 5 years of verified driving experience
Defensive Driving Course (DDC) and Driver Improvement Course (DIC) completed or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe
In-class teaching/training experience is preferred and will be considered a strong asset
Prior classroom experience or teaching background is a plus but not mandatory
Patience, professionalism, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles
