Apprentice Responsibilities:



Role



Reporting to the Foreman-Service and working under the supervision of a journeyman electrician, learns and assists with various electrical tasks, from basic installations to troubleshooting and maintenance, while gaining practical experience and knowledge of the trade.

Electrical Apprentice (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year) Gain electrical construction experience working within the distribution, collection of water/waste water sector. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Learn to use various hand and power tools, including measuring equipment and testing devices. Assisting in the repair and maintenance of electrical systems. Learning and understanding electrical regulations and codes. They learn to use various hand and power tools, including measuring equipment and testing devices. Apprentices learn to identify and troubleshoot electrical problems. developing analytical and problem-solving skills. Preparing and cleaning work areas, ensuring a safe and organized workspace. Maintaining accurate records of work performed, including hours worked and materials used. Other duties as required

Journeyman Electrician-Service:



Role



Reporting to the Foreman-Service, independently install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial, and industrial settings, ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards. Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine the layout of electrical systems.

Responsibilities



Perform corrective and preventative maintenance, repairs, alterations, and installations of various electrical systems, components, and equipment.

Respond to, troubleshoot, and find solutions for complex and unique issues with various types of equipment and systems relating to the trade.

Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts.

Install conduits, cables, other types of electrical conductor enclosures, and fittings and pull wire through conduits.

Install cabling, distribution, and control equipment such as PLC's, VFD's, MCC's, SCADA Network, switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, and fuse enclosures.

Splice, join, and connect wire to form circuits and test circuits to ensure integrity and safety.

Operate various equipment related to the trade.

Participate in development of trade related preventative maintenance tasks and procedures.

Participate actively as a team member and support various health and safety, energy conservation, and operational cost effectiveness initiatives.

Provide input into technical data, specifications, and cost estimates.

Strictly comply with various quality, electrical codes, related regulations, and standards.

Complete field level hazard assessments (FLHAs) and incident reports as necessary.

Identify and purchase parts and supplies using department policies for guidance.

Maintain various manuals, blueprints, and facility/field logbooks as required.

Complete and maintain accurate records and reports and provide written notes and feedback on work orders or other forms of communication.

Respond to call outs and emergencies as required.

Provide guidance, instruction, and direction to assigned helpers or apprentices as required.

Perform other related duties as required.

Pay: $24.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
