About the Role

We are seeking an Applications Scientist, Enterprise Deployment based at our head office in downtown Montreal, Quebec to join our global team of applications scientists. Reporting to the Director of Scientific Support, you will be responsible for the deployment of life science software within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. The position requires a strategic view to integrate and deploy CCG's products within customers' existing infrastructure. This is a highly customer-centric position and requires both solid technical knowledge and a friendly, results-oriented, and practical demeanor.

Main Responsibilities

Lead integration of CCG software across a customer's computational infrastructure. Including but not limited to relational database systems, web services, machine learning architectures, and other 3rd party software. Manage customer deployments and provide on-going support including updates required with new CCG software releases. Initiate and lead remote and on-site client meetings to gather customer requirements, analyze infrastructure and provide practical and actionable solutions. Identify and recommend product enhancements that will ease and streamline deployment efforts. Act as a spokesperson to sell the vision of an organization-wide MOE installation and help realize the intermediate goals needed to achieve such an installation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with experience deploying enterprise software solutions in customer environments. Experience in the life sciences sector is a strong plus. Proven ability to lead projects and work effectively in collaborative, customer-facing roles. Extensive programming experience, with a strong ability to think programmatically. Experience with modern technologies such as Python, Java, RESTful APIs, JSON, and XML. Familiarity with SOAP and MySQL is also valued. Solid understanding of operating systems, with hands-on experience in both Microsoft Windows and Linux environments. Practical scripting skills in Windows (PowerShell, batch) and Unix/Linux (Bash), including experience with system-level tasks such as compiling software (e.g., Make, C/C++). Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS), as well as grid engines, queuing systems, and job control tools. Strong networking knowledge, including proxies, SSL, certificates, firewalls, ports, and sockets. Familiarity with GPU-based applications, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Le poste est base a notre siege social au centre-ville de Montreal, Quebec, et releve du Directeur du soutien scientifique. Vous serez responsable du deploiement de logiciels en sciences de la vie dans les secteurs biotechnologique et pharmaceutique. Le poste requiert une vision strategique pour integrer et deployer les produits de CCG dans l'infrastructure existante des clients. Ce role centre sur le client exige a la fois de solides competences techniques et une attitude pratique, orientee vers les resultats et axee sur la collaboration.

Responsabilites principales

Diriger l'integration des logiciels de CCG a l'infrastructure informatique du client, incluant, sans s'y limiter, les bases de donnees relationnelles, les services web, les architectures d'apprentissage automatique et autres logiciels tiers. Gerer les deploiements clients et assurer un soutien continu, y compris les mises a jour requises avec les nouvelles versions des logiciels de CCG. Initier et diriger des reunions clients a distance et sur site pour recueillir les besoins des clients, analyser l'infrastructure et fournir des solutions pratiques et exploitables. Identifier et recommander des ameliorations aux produits afin de faciliter et d'optimiser les efforts de deploiement. Promouvoir la vision d'une installation MOE a l'echelle organisationnelle et contribuer a la realisation des objectifs intermediaires necessaires. Etre une ressource respectee et digne de confiance pour nos clients.

Exigences

Maitrise de l'anglais ecrit et parle. Diplome universitaire (baccalaureat) en informatique ou dans un domaine technique connexe, avec une experience dans le deploiement de solutions logicielles en environnement client. Une experience dans le secteur des sciences de la vie est un atout majeur. Capacite demontre a mener des projets et a travailler en mode collaboratif avec les clients. Solide experience en programmation et raisonnement algorithmique. Maitrise des technologies modernes (Python, Java, API RESTful, JSON, XML). Connaissance de SOAP et MySQL appreciee. Expertise pratique des systemes d'exploitation, en particulier Windows et Linux. Competences pratiques en matiere de scripts sous Windows (PowerShell, batch) et Unix/Linux (Bash), y compris une experience des taches au niveau du systeme telles que la compilation de logiciels (e.g., Make, C/C++). Experience avec l'infrastructure "cloud", en particulier Amazon Web Services (AWS), ainsi qu'avec les grilles informatiques, les systemes de file d'attente et les outils de controle des taches. Connaissances approfondies en reseaux: serveur proxy, SSL, certificats, pare-feux, ports et sockets. Familiarite avec les applications GPU: installation, configuration, depannage.
