Applications Specialist
The Applications Specialist will be responsible for supporting field sales with technical support as well as lab testing of customer samples of milling/screening tests. The Applications Specialist will work with multiple facets of the business which may include but not be limited to: field and channel sales, engineering department, product marketing, and other lab staff. A key component of this position is being a conduit to Inside and Outside Sales, communicating engineering and application solutions.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Perform powder processing testing for customer lab testing
Generate test reports for customer testing; document results into Applications database
Interact with customers to understand customer needs, convey test results and deliver value proposition
Evaluate new designs for our core technology by a combination of experiments, analysis, literature searching and customer collaborations
Accompany sales channels on sales calls when required for commercial and technical support
Assist inside sales coordinators concerning applications, quotations, and best solutions
Explain and demonstrate the operation, function utility and benefits of Fitzpatrick & Quadro Milling equipment
Communicate suggestions for improvement
Prepare and present technical presentations on Fitzpatrick & Quadro products/equipment
Remain current with the industry and related equipment
This position may require regular travel to the specified regions as well as occasional travel to related industry events
The successful candidate will possess the following education and competencies:
Post-secondary education in Engineering (Process or Mechanical Engineering preferred, University or College) with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in applications engineering
Experience working in Oral Solid Dosing processing or related industries is an asset
Experience with production and characterization desired
Experience with powder processing equipment desired
Hands-on mechanical skills with medium to large scale equipment desired
Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design tools, prints, schematics, etc.
Basic knowledge of metals, powder and material characteristics, pneumatics, electronics
