RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Gather requirements, including documenting;
• Develop initial architectures;
• Create gap analyses;
• Generate initial system designs and associated documentation;
• Refine architecture(s) and system design(s);
• Lead a team of consultants in development of custom applications, specific application interfaces platform/software integration, cloud services configuration and functionality to support the development environment;
• Oversee the test environment through the development and trial period leading to the production environment using tools such as AWS S3, RDS (RDS PostgreSQL, Glue, Brew) and authentications and authorization processes such as SSO, SAML, OpenID Connect, Azure AD and AWS Cognito
• Develop documentation required for a request for information/proposal (RFI/RFP) processes if and when required;
• Demonstrate that the strategies and implementation recommended will work on the ISED cloud service offerings which includes AWS cloud and OpenShift Container Platform;
• Drive and use Cloud Native architecture best practices when it comes to development and deploying systems in the cloud;
• Use ISED best practices and recommendations when it comes to architect and design applications for the cloud;
• Use DevOps ISED principals and practices;
• Use Security by design approach when planning a design strategy;
• Follow ISED application life cycle methodologies, timelines and project plans;
• Develop and maintain technical/system documentation;
• Develop, analyse and categorize user stories for consideration in solutions;
• Applying Agile project management approaches using the JIRA tool;
• Support cloud solutions for development team members;
• Contribute to project team meetings and collaborate with the ISED teams including the project authorities,
• Complete and submit time sheets; and
• Provide updates/status reporting, briefing notes and presentations to ISED team management as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10+ years IT and Cloud Architecture experience
• Minimum 1 year experience with Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift
• 5+ years developing IT solutions using AWS
• 10+ years Agile
• Demonstrated professional work experience in managing resources in the Cloud by performing the following tasks:
• Managing applications in the Cloud
• Configuring service for custom solutions
• Integration of platforms across cloud providers
• Implementing Security controls in the Cloud
• Provisioning VMs in the Cloud
• Monitoring Consumption and Usage in the Cloud

DURATION:

• 1 year contract with 2 additional 1 year extensions
