We are currently recruiting for an Application Specialist to work with our Valve & Actuation Solutions (V&A) team in Regina, Saskatchewan. In this role, the successful candidate will work in partnership with a broad team of Account Managers, Technical Specialists, and Application Specialists to provide customized instrumentation solutions for our Spartan customers. You will report to the Manager, Application Specialists.   • Qualify and execute requests from our diverse customer base, including mining, power, oil & gas, municipal, pulp & paper and chemical industries
  • Collaborate with consulting engineers, OEMs, project managers, technicians, and plant supervisors to provide instrumentation solutions that meet customer expectations for budget, technology, and performance
  • Provide engineering and trouble-shooting assistance to support new and existing installations.
  • Create technical quotations, proposals and documentation packages as required
  • Monitor and maintain awareness of VMS product-line technical specifications and modifications
  • Provide support for Spartan sales initiatives by working closely with Saskatchewan Account Managers
  • Support formal and informal customer training
  • Engage in proactive and regular follow-up with customers
  • Development collaborative relationships with Spartan principles such as Emerson
Qualifications and Skills
  • Post-Secondary engineering degree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Instrumentation, or similar discipline
  • 1-5 years applicable work experience would be an asset; new graduuates will be considered
  • Proficient with MS Office programs; Word, Power Point, Excel
  • Experience with SAP an asset
  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent skills in communication, prioritization, and time management
  • Highly-motivated and innovative
  • A desire to work with industrial customers to understand their needs, provide personalized service, and develop and propose solutions
  • Strong technical skills, problem solving ability, resourcefulness, and detail oriented
  • High degree of dependability and reliability
  • Ability to develop and foster relationships with coworkers and customers; a customer-centric mindset & a strong team player
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic, and a do what it takes to get the job done attitude
