Position Title: Application Developer

Team and Location: Digital Master Data Management (MDM) - Calgary, AB

Position Summary:

Join the high performing Digital Master Data Management (MDM) Team. The MDM Application Developer will be responsible to develop, configure, test, and implement TIBCO-EBX MDM application that enables Parkland to manage master and reference data to make informed strategic decisions, improving operational efficiency, and business productivity. The Digital MDM team handles large and complex data objects in various data domains. Working closely with business stakeholders we identify and develop new MDM opportunities. Common functions of Digital MDM Team are data modeling, workflow development, downstream application integrations, data enrichment, and MDM-EBX GO application management. The Application Developer will focus on developing and maintaining the MDM-EBX application within the digital platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Master Data Management Application (TIBCO-EBX):

  • Develop, configure, test, and implement all technical aspects of the Digital MDM application (TIBCO-EBX).
  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Install and monitor MDM application on the public cloud (AWS).
  • Develop and deploy master data & reference data objects.
  • Develop and deploy web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, etc.).
  • Assist with MDM Release Management and prepares technical documentation (release notes).
  • Responsible for DevOps using automation tools (i.e. Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, etc.).
  • Manages all MDM non-prod and production environments.
  • Collaborates with MDM Business Analysts to understand the business needs and requirements.
Master Data Management Application Integration Support (TIBCO - Business Works)
  • Support real-time integrations (SOAP, REST, JMS, ESB technology, etc.) & batch integration (file based) between MDM & other systems.
  • Support TIBCO-BW Developers to build data extraction, transformation, and loading strategies for the MDM-EBX system.
Master Data Management Sustainment Support (JIRA Support Desk)
  • Accountable for resolution of all technical production issues with the MDM application.
  • Participate in MDM Sustainment and Support related activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A minimum of a 5-8 years of experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, etc.).
  • A minimum of a post-secondary degree/diploma, with 3-5 years of hands-on experience implementing Master Data.
  • Management (MDM) using TIBCO EBX (Orchestra Networks) or any other MDM/web-based application.
  • 1-3 years of experience in configuring TIBCO EBX software to satisfy functional and technical requirements in defining match/merge, workflow, user interfaces, security, access rules, etc.
  • 1-3 years of experience in MDM foundational and data modeling concepts, such as star schemas, snowflakes, de-normalized models, handling "slow-changing" dimensions/attributes.
  • 1-3 years of experience with implementing and configuring the data model within MDM, as per the logical models defined by data modelers.
  • 1-3 years of experience with real-time integration (SOAP, REST, JMS, ESB technology, etc.) & batch integration (file based) between MDM & other systems.
  • 1-3 years of experience with public cloud (AWS) MDM server management.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with mastering data & their hierarchy and reference data.
  • 1-3 years of experience with version control technology (Git, Subversion, CVS, etc.).
  • 1-3 years of experience with DevOps and build automation tools (Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, etc.).
  • 1-3 years of experience with installing and configurating the MDM TIBCO EBX software.
  • 1-3 years of experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of strategizing and implementing Master data, their hierarchy, relationship with other entities and reference data using TIBCO EBX.
  • Working knowledge of MDM best practices, design patterns and standards to guide MDM implementation.
  • Working knowledge of MDM capabilities via well defined, Batch & Real time interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of data conversion and initial load of data in MDM as per data profiling strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience in ensuring work product is dynamic, scalable, documented, and accurate.
