Chinook Valley Inc. is a sister company to Mancal and this position will be an integral member of the Chinook Valley Accounting team. Key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Preparing the monthly financial reporting package;
Processing of all accounts payable invoices and related journal entries;
Cheque, bank draft, bill payment and wire transfer generation;
Signature routing and preparation of invoices for mailing and filing;
Funding of bank accounts, petty cash and bank reconciliations;
Completing journal entries;
Handling of all vendor and internal queries which concern A/P;
Intercompany and account reconciliations including foreign exchange; and,
Assisting the members of the accounting team as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To meet the challenges of this role, the candidate must have worked in a multi-company accounting environment for at least 2 years and must have the ability to respond quickly to a rapidly changing environment. The candidate must be highly organized, energetic and have the ability to perform well with minimal supervision. Experience with Quickbooks accounting software and Excel is required. Formal accounting education would be an asset. The successful candidate will possess a friendly manner, strong communication skills and will present a positive customer service approach in order to deal effectively with challenging situations.
