The Role and Opportunity


The Canadian Mental Health Association - Toronto Branch is looking for an

AP Clerk

to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the AP Clerk is primarily responsible for the accounts payable of CMHA, processing of employee expenses and trade payables, as well as general accounting duties. We seek a customer minded individual to join our collaborative team contributing everyday to the success of our community mental health services by providing excellent administrative support to our colleagues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payable Functions

Possess expertise and proficiency in preparing and maintaining accounts payable information Monitor Accounts Payable email inbox Vouch employee expense reports for payment. Verify supporting receipts and approvals, extend reports, assign general ledger accounts and program codes. Accurately input vouched and approved invoices and expenses reports into the Accounts Payable system Responsible for the weekly payments of employee expenses, housing and non-housing trade/vendors invoices by EFTs and cheques Reconcile accounts payable batches Prepare cheques/direct payment advice for employee expenses for bank direct deposit transmission Maintain monthly employee expense submission list Maintain employee and non-housing trade/vendor files and filing Maintain AP Batch Listing - Invoice, AP Batch Listing - Payment and Pre-Authorized Deposit Report from Scotiabank Maintain Cheque Issued Log to track cheques used, voided/or spoiled. Answers inquiries from employees and non-housing trade/vendors Resolve problem invoices in a timely fashion coordinating with employees, trade/vendors and supervisors Prepare employees' T2200 (Statement of Expenses) annually Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger New Vendor creation in accounting systems such as Great Plains (GP), Yardi and Concur

General Accounting

Possess expertise and proficiency in general ledger account analysis and reconciliations Balance Sheet Accounts reconciliations as assigned Reconcile petty cash advances to the general ledger Prepare journal entries of adjustments for advances Assistin month-end close, by preparing necessary expense accruals and reclassifying journal entries Prepares and executes bank deposits on a weekly basis or as required Acts as the back up to other members of the team as required

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS YOU BRING

Minimum post-secondary degree or certification in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or equivalent Minimum three(3)years of experience working in accounts payable and general accounting Understanding and strong knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles Strong numeracy aptitude Experience working with spreadsheets and proprietary software Excellent proficiency in Microsoft365 especially Teams and SharePoint are highly desirable High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Strong customer service orientation to service vendors, employees and colleagues in a collaborative work culture Ability to contribute to a positive learning culture and facilitate the achievement of evidence-based quality care with optimal outcomes Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and consensus building skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities and assign priorities

Salary Range:

$54,943 - $60,203
