About SuOn Academy

SuOn Academy is an Ontario Ministry of Education-inspected private high school offering Grades 9-12.
In addition to our day-school curriculum, SuOn Academy operates an Academic Learning Centre that supports students in advanced mathematics and university-preparation programs.

We are seeking a

Part-Time AP Calculus AB/BC Instructor

to lead structured instructional sessions for motivated senior students preparing for advanced mathematics study.

Position Overview

The AP Calculus Instructor will teach key concepts from the AP Calculus AB/BC framework, helping students develop a strong understanding of differential and integral calculus, limits, series, and related applications. Instruction takes place in small groups on campus, using school-provided curriculum guidelines.

Responsibilities

Teach AP Calculus AB/BC topics following SuOn Academy's academic framework Lead structured lessons, guided examples, and problem-solving activities Explain complex concepts clearly and encourage mathematical reasoning Provide feedback on student understanding and support skill development Prepare students for AP-style multiple-choice and free-response questions Maintain a positive and professional learning environment Communicate student progress with the Academic Learning Centre coordinator Participate in occasional planning or training sessions

Qualifications

Required:

Strong proficiency in university-level calculus Degree or current study in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or related fields Clear communication skills and the ability to teach advanced mathematical concepts Professional, responsible, and organized teaching approach

Preferred:

Experience teaching high-school students or leading advanced math instruction Familiarity with AP Calculus AB/BC curriculum and College Board expectations Understanding of Ontario senior math courses (MHF4U, MCV4U) Experience supporting multilingual or international learners
