Job Overview

You have progressive Accounts Payable experience having worked in multiple positions. You understand how important cashflow and reconciliations are. How they contribute to having a healthy balance sheet and profit and loss that reflects the true nature of the company activities. You combine excellent technical skills with a good understanding of the business reality.

Success in this role means accurate and timely financial information, clean balance sheet reconciliation, and clear audit trail.

Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities

The following responsibilities are not listed in order of priority:

  • Verifying and authorizing supplier invoices in Focal point and coordinating with various business departments for invoice approvals.
  • Accurately reviewing, assist with coding, classifying, and processing the vendor invoices in accounting system.
  • Ensuring the timely payment of all invoices in accordance with company policies with Biweekly payment runs via EFT/Wire/Credit card.
  • Matching all payments to our bank and ensuring our accounting system is kept up to date.
  • Completing monthly vendor reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
  • Recording credit card entries and reconciling credit card statements on a monthly basis.
  • Manage the onboarding / setup for new vendors.
  • Responding and resolving of questions and/or issues regarding invoices and invoice payments.
  • Take charge of employee expenses process such as verifying, approving and recording all employee expenses in the accounting system though Access workspace employee expense platform.
  • Tracking and managing all intercompany transactions.
  • Preparing monthly AP & Credit card accrual entries, prepaids and assisting senior accountant on month-end activities.
  • Over seeing fixed asset schedule and posting monthly depreciation entries.
  • Assist with any AP queries during the annual audit.
  • Other ad hoc accounting duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience Required
  • 2 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable
  • Must demonstrate a progressive experience in accountancy tackling different functions and higher responsibilities
  • Able to organise and prioritise workload
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of accounting control procedures
  • Solution minded person with analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to use the various mainstream finance and reporting tools: Excel etc
