Our Community Safety department is looking for an Anti-Graffiti Facilitator to join the team. If you have an interest in public mural art creation and other anti-graffiti initiatives across the City, this job may be for you! This is hands-on work to work with youth to create and implement murals and responsible for related anti-graffiti initiatives in the community. This position is also responsible for providing information and assistance to respond to graffiti complaints and enquiries and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts to promote awareness of and participation in program initiatives. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 supplemented by post-secondary courses in visual arts, social sciences, or a related discipline, plus related experience in implementing and promoting anti-graffiti or public art programs, including experience with mural painting; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful candidate will have experience using tools and techniques associated with mural creation such as brushwork, spray paint and paint sprayers. Experience working with youth in a public or community-based setting is an asset. Working knowledge of community resources and concerns related to public art and youth engagement is also required, along with the ability to assist in the implementation of public education and anti-graffiti programming. A valid Class 5 Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia is required. Please note that the successful completion of a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector is a requirement for this position.
Pay Rate:
$31.97 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits
Hour of Work
: Hours and shifts are dependent on operational requirements and are scheduled by the department on an as needed basis. This role may require availability for daytime shifts as well as some evenings, typically from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
