NorQuest College's Family Caregiver Wellness Initiative (FCWI) is recruiting for health care professionals to deliver educational workshops in a facilitator role to family caregivers in Alberta's rural and Indigenous communities. FCWI is committed to enhancing family caregiver knowledge and confidence to respond to the needs of the persons in their care and improving their quality of life.

How you'll make a difference:

• The successful candidates will be training caregivers within their community in 2-hour workshops using NorQuest teaching material and simulation videos.
• Facilitators should be comfortable communicating with organizations to plan and schedule workshops.
• Candidates for this position must reside in southern Alberta (Red Deer and down) or North/NE Alberta (Grande Prairie/Slave Lake and up) and be willing to travel to various communities.

What you bring:

• Health Care professionals such as Health Care Aides, Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, Allied Health worker, Social Workers, and students in those fields with at least 50% of program completed. In addition, facilitators can also be current family caregivers willing to complete the Family Caregiver Wellness workshops training.
• In Indigenous communities, individuals that are selected or promoted by their community can become workshop facilitators once they have completed the facilitator training and have been mentored for one cycle of the workshops
• Retired professionals with the requisite experience are welcome
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• An understanding of using Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and other presentation tools is required
• Class 5 Drivers License and ability to travel surrounding rural communities

Compensation: Facilitators are hired as fee-for-service contractors and will invoice the College for each workshop taught at a fee of $150 per workshop or $50 for non-attendance workshops. Travel related to delivering FCWI workshops and resulting in over 50km that occurs within a 24-hour period, shall be reimbursed at the documented NorQuest College mileage rate ($0.55/km).
