Position Summary
The UHN Animal Resource Centre (ARC) Manager, reporting directly to Program Head, oversees all aspects of daily operations of multiple UHN Animal Facilities. The Animal Resource Centre department operates five (5) physical sites which include specialized areas such as exclusion barriers, biohazard areas, behaviour imaging and surgical suites. This position is responsible for the effective coordination, supervision, and management of the staff, facility, and equipment. The ARC Manager ensures that all tasks are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner while adhering to applicable institutional Policies & Guidelines, Provincial and Federal legislation. This position is responsible for ensuring the care and management of animals, ensuring animal health and welfare are a priority while supporting animal-based research. The incumbent will assist the ARC Team in establishing and maintaining effective communication with users of the facilities.
