Job Description

Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue is looking for an Animal Care Team Member! The Animal Care Team Member will work under the supervision of the Animal Care Team Lead to provide care for animals at the Bandaged Paws facility. They will be responsible for cleaning kennels, the facility and common areas, helping to ensure the health and wellbeing of the animals, facilitating in animal adoptions, supporting volunteers and complete records as required.

This position will require morning shifts (8am-12pm), evening shifts (4pm-7pm) and may include split shifts or extended shifts extended into the afternoons (up to 8 hours).

Requirements:

Be comfortable handling cats, dogs of various sized and small animals such as rabbits Physically fit to undertake labour duties; have the ability to walk, reach overhead, carry up to 50lbs unassisted or 75lbs assisted from the ground, as well as standing for extended periods of time Must be able to work with a varying schedule including evenings and weekends; Ability to tolerate unpleasant odours No allergy to animals Comfortable working alone with animals Good written communication/documentation skills; Ability to deal with members of the public in a professional manner Ability to complete paperwork and maintain records as required by the rescue; Ability to maintain confidentiality pursuant to the rescue's confidentiality policy; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
Considered an Assest:

Secondary school diploma preferred; post-secondary education Animal control, enforcement, pound or shelter related experience Computer skills including MS Office and platforms Knowledge of animal behaviour and breeds
