Overview STUDENT POSITION, GRADES 11 AND 12 (AT LEAST 16 YEARS OLD)

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and cleaning enclosures to ensure optimal health and hygiene. Handle animals safely using appropriate restraint techniques to prevent injury and reduce stress during examinations or treatments. Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint, medication administration, and basic medical procedures following aseptic techniques. Monitor animal behavior and health status, promptly reporting any signs of illness or distress to veterinary professionals. Support medical staff with laboratory procedures, sample collection, and other diagnostic tasks as needed. Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, medication schedules, and behavioral observations in compliance with clinic protocols. Ensure the cleanliness of all animal housing areas and equipment to uphold safety standards and prevent infections. Handle a variety of species confidently, including dogs, cats, and small mammals. Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues across departments to deliver exceptional pet care services.

Skills
