Successful candidates will join our team to provide comprehensive anesthesiology service to the patients of southern Saskatchewan.Our services are shared between two sites. The Regina General Hospital is our trauma center representing all major surgical specialties, except transplant. Regina General Hospital Anesthesiologists provide full obstetric service. The Pasqua Hospital is a community hospital and referral center specializing in Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery and Urology.Elective OR runs from 07:45 to 16:00hrs. Our goal for Regina is to routinely operate 18 surgical theatres. Capacity is managed to allow for reduced theatres during holiday periods, allowing physicians and staff greater vacation opportunities. Call is 1:5 to 1:6 depending on holiday requests.Physicians have the opportunity to teach undergraduate and post-graduate education at the University of Saskatchewan (USask). The USask campus is located on the shores of the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon, a city with a diverse and thriving economic base and a vibrant cultural life. USask is a research-intensive institution with 22,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff, and a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. It is home to the newly constructed Academic Health Sciences Complex and two of the largest science projects in the country - the Canadian Light Source synchrotron and the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization/International Vaccine Centre.
