Clyde&CieCanada S.E.N.C.R.L. recherche une personne intelligente, competente et responsable pour le role d'analyste en conformite juridique, qui travaillera au sein du bureau des avocates generauxales. Il s'agit d'une occasion de soutenir les affaires croissantes et dynamiques de notre cabinet d'avocats chef de file en assurance. Notre environnement de travail favorise la collegialite et le professionnalisme. Ce role implique la realisation de recherches et d'analyses dans le contexte de l'evaluation de nouveaux dossiers, de changements a des dossiers et de l'embauche de nouvelles recrues. A titre de membre du bureau des avocates generauxales, la personne titulaire du poste travaillera en etroite collaboration avec les avocates du cabinet, l'Unite d'acceptation des dossiers et d'autres services internes a l'echelle du globe pour relever et gerer tout conflit d'interets possible sur les plans juridique et commercial. Les taches inherentes a ce poste sont essentielles dans le reperage de risques eventuels, la communication de solutions potentielles et l'obtention des approbations necessaires dans le cadre du processus d'ouverture de dossiers et d'embauche de nouvelles recrues. La personne candidate ideale possede de fortes competences en communication ecrite et orale, d'exceptionnelles capacites de recherche et un bon esprit d'equipe. Elle sait bien travailler sous pression, prend plaisir a collaborer et a de l'experience eprouvee en resolution de problemes. Ce role exige un jugement solide et raisonne, de bonnes capacites de prise de decisions, et une approche axee sur le service et la satisfaction client.

Vos responsabilites



Conseiller les avocates et d'autres membres du cabinet sur les problemes relatifs aux conflits d'interets poses par l'ouverture de dossiers et par l'embauche laterale d'avocates ou de parajuristes. Eduquer les avocates et les autres membres du cabinet sur les politiques et procedures concernant les conflits d'interets et les problemes lies a l'ouverture de dossiers. Aider les cadres du service dans la coordination du flux de travail quotidien pour que le rendement du personnel reponde aux besoins des avocates. Appuyer les cadres du service dans l'etablissement de nouvelles methodes et normes pour le travail de recherche et d'analyse de toute verification de conflit d'interets realisee par le service, puis en assurer une surveillance aux fins de coherence, d'exactitude et de rigueur. Contribuer a la formation des nouvelles recrues. Rediger des ebauches de lettres de mandat, de lettres de renonciation aux conflits d'interets et des memos de murs ethiques, puis les passer en revue. Communiquer directement avec les avocates du cabinet et les clients pour rediger les lettres de mandat et des lettres de renonciation aux conflits d'interets et pour negocier les modalites qui y figurent. Soutenir le travail de l'Unite d'acceptation des dossiers. Epauler les cadres du service, en fonction des besoins. Se tenir au fait de la reglementation en vigueur et des enjeux actuels qui pourraient avoir une incidence sur le travail des avocates du cabinet. Avoir une connaissance approfondie du code de conduite professionnelle, des programmes reglementaires dont font l'objet les avocates dans les provinces canadiennes et des enjeux ethiques juridiques. Demeurer disponible en soiree et pendant les fins de semaine pour repondre aux besoins mondiaux du cabinet a l'echelle d'une multitude de fuseaux horaires. Accomplir toute autre tache, selon les besoins d'affaires.

Vos competences et votre experience



Diplome en droit d'un etablissement accredite au Canada ou autre combinaison pertinente d'education et d'experience. Plus de 5 ans d'experience au sein d'un cabinet d'avocats, en particulier dans le domaine de l'assurance ou de la gestion de conflits ou de risques. Experience dans la verification, le reperage et l'elimination de conflits d'interets. Maitrise du francais et de l'anglais, tant a l'oral qu'a l'ecrit. Permis de pratique actif et en regle dans une province ou Clyde&CieCanada S.E.N.C.R.L. detient un bureau: Montreal (Quebec), Toronto (Ontario), Calgary (Alberta) ou Vancouver (Colombie-Britannique) constitue un atout.

Clyde & Co Canada LLP seeks smart, capable, responsible individual for the role of Legal Compliance Analyst to work with the Office of the General Counsel. This is an opportunity to support the growing and dynamic business of the preeminent insurance law firm. The work environment is collegial and professional. Your role will involve research and analysis associated with new matters, changes in existing matters, and new hires. As a member of the Office of the General Counsel, you will work closely with Firm lawyers, the Business Acceptance Unit, and other departments within the Firm around the globe to identify and navigate possible legal and commercial conflicts of interest. This position is critical to identifying potential risk, communicating potential resolution, and securing the necessary approvals as part of the business intake and new hire process. The ideal candidate possesses strong written and communication skills, exceptional research abilities, works well under pressure, enjoys collaboration and being part of a team, and is a proven problem-solver. The position demands strong and reasoned judgment, sound decision-making skills, and an orientation towards service and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities



Advise Firm lawyers and staff regarding conflict-of-interest issues associated with new matters and lateral lawyer/paralegal candidates. Educate Firm lawyers and staff regarding policies and procedures relating to conflicts and business intake issues. Assist department leadership in the coordination of daily workflow to ensure that performance of staff is meeting the needs of the lawyers. Assist department leadership in establishing new methods and standards for searching and analysis of all conflicts of interest searches performed by the department, monitoring for consistency, accuracy and thoroughness. Support training of new hires. Draft and review engagement letters, conflict waiver letters, and ethical wall memoranda. Communicate directly with Firm lawyers and clients to draft and negotiate engagement letters and conflict waiver letters. Support Firm's Business Acceptance Unit. Assist department leadership as needed. Keep abreast and informed of current rules, law and business issues that may impact Firm lawyers. Have substantive knowledge of Rules of Professional Conduct, regulatory schemes governing lawyers across Canadian provinces and legal ethics issues. Available to address Firm's global needs across multiple time zones - including evenings and weekends. Other duties as necessitated by the business.

Essential Skills & Experience



Law degree from an accredited University in Canada or other relevant combination of education and experience. 5+ years of law firm experience, specifically in conflicts, risk management or insurance. Experience in conflicts identification and clearance. Ability to communicate fluently in both English and French, verbally and in writing. Active bar license in good standing in a province where Clyde & Co Canada LLP maintains an office, i.e. Montreal (Quebec), Calgary (Alberta), Toronto (Ontario) or Vancouver (British Columbia) would be an asset.
