Job Description

The role has responsibility for the business and functional design testing, analysis, metrics and reporting of FNZ's Capital Markets platform capabilities, business processes and end to end testing (including supporting client UAT as required).
They will work both independently and within a client aligned development team within existing IT systems and business models, analyze requirements (both business and technical) and translate these into test artefacts and knowledge base documentation. Activities will include input for Test Strategies, Test Plans, metrics, and reporting, as well as ensuring test solutions against client requirements. The Analyst Tester is also required to work closely with IT and Product Teams and the Quality and Release Manager, to provide oversight and clarity into testing of development solutions, project status and outcomes.

The Analyst Tester will require a broad knowledge of FNZ platform capabilities and a deep understanding of the SDLC for the FNZ CM platform. They will uphold quality goals through holistic oversight of process, working with development and product teams to ensure analysis and testing of requirements.

The Analyst Tester will be involved in all aspects of testing from test requirements analysis, technical testing approaches including test automation, database manipulation and xml injection testing to functional specification testing and supporting UAT and Release Planning.

There is an expectation that the Analyst Tester will learn about our application, our business and the industry we operate in as well as the range of test tools, methodologies and quality targets we use to support our business.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Analysis:Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of platform functionality and business processes related to their nominated functional area. Educate and prepare internal customers on core FNZ CM platform functionality and test requirements. Working closely with customers (internal) to analyse requirements and develop test solutions that meet business and technical requirements. Attend workshops when required and provide input into requirements testing. Work closely with Solution Consultants and Product SMEs to understand the agreed scope of a change and design solutions that meet the customers' business and technical requirements within that defined scope.

Test Strategy & Reporting:Participate in Test Strategy and undertake Test Plan design as required. Manage and develop test execution plans for major release regression. Support the test framework for minor and major release test phases, including oversight of JIRA Xray process. Create Release Status dashboards and monitor progress as required. Proactive and forward thinking to anticipate and rectify any issues, highlighting risks to Quality and Delivery Managers. Supporting the wider test team in highlighting blockers and providing assistance. Provide knowledge base articles to participate in Test Team training and capability goals. Assisting Test Lead and Quality Manager, as required, on task allocation and tracking. Provide inputs to release Quality Gate process, ensuring traceability and completion of tasks to support accurate release summary information on issues, outstanding actions, mitigating risks, for stakeholder release approvals.

Test Design & Preparation:Ensure acceptance criteria for each story is defined and cover both positive and negative testing scenarios using correct BDD syntax to feed into automation tests. Review/analyse business requirements to ensure they are quantified and testable. Write/Produce artefacts to support testing activities such as Test Designs, Test Matrices, Test Cases, Test Procedures, Test Scripts and Behavioural Models.

Test Execution and Defect Management:Perform structured and context-driven (formal /ad-hoc) system, system integration and regression testing as required. Ensure the changes developed are to an acceptable standard by reviewing solutions, conducting regular functional reviews, and testing the changes end to end once the feature is available. Ensure the solution delivered to the client at an acceptable standard of quality and conduct walkthroughs of the delivered functionality with internal clients (as required). Author reusable tests and conducting end to end system, regression, and mis-use case testing as part of the production readiness process. Use internal defect tracking and test case management system(s) to document test cases, record defects and record test case execution results. Raise and re-test defects. Participate in defect triage meetings as directed. Assist with Client Support Activities, as required.

Collaboration / Communication:Provide regular updates to SCRUM team, Test Lead, Quality Manger & Delivery Manager on progress to plan as well as key risk and issues. Provide timely estimates to Quality and Delivery Managers, as requested. Provide status updates on request. Work within Test Team, internally and externally as required (client side). Ensure that testing issues/ solutions are called out appropriately to the wider testing community, and where there is obvious process improvements promote to the broader FNZ teams and client engagement teams. Collaborate with analyst testers to share knowledge, best practices, useful technology, and opportunities for cross-project solutions. Maintain high standards regarding written and verbal communications to ensure that information is clearly and concisely documented and appropriately disseminated. Technology:Keep up to date with the latest and/or relevant technologies, tools and methods. Identify adoption of processes, technology and tools best suited to FNZ. Proactively identify technical issues (environmental, coding and testing) that may impede test progress to enable early resolution of said technical issues.

Experience required
Preferred Industry KnowledgeExperience in an analysis or testing environment. Maintain high standards regarding written and verbal communications to ensure that information is clearly and concisely documented and appropriately disseminated. General investment/wealth/life and/or pensions products and the markets in which FNZ and our customers operate. An understanding of the regulatory environment FNZ operate within. 3+ years of experience in technology delivery in the financial services/wealth market.

Required Knowledge & Skills1st class degree or equivalent experience Experience working within an analysis or testing role previously. Confident, and able to take initiative in a delivery-focused environment. Independent, self-directing and delivery focused working style. Superior analytical thinking and problem solving. Intermediate computer skills essential (Microsoft Office) Excellent organisational, administration and time management skills. Strong written and oral communication skills, confidence in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
