About the Role




Are you research-oriented, with strong analytical and interpretation skills? We are looking for a Tax Analyst to join our Accounting and Finance department in Calgary, Alberta.


Under the direction and leadership of the Manager, Taxation, we are seeking a full-time permanent Tax Analyst to join our team. The Tax Analyst is responsible for a wide variety of taxation issues and financial reporting such as the preparation of income tax provisions, tax returns, elections and other filings.

What You Get to Do:



Calculate income tax provisions, prepare tax returns and GST returns, and reconcile tax expenses and tax liability accounts Assist with preparations of other financial statement disclosures Maintain accurate tax attributes calculations including cost bases, safe income, and surplus pools Conduct tax research in areas such as the impact of new legislation on the corporation, internal asset transfers, taxable benefits, and GST and updating internal control documentation Manage the collection of tax related information in ATCO's tax database

What You Bring:



Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or related program 2+ years of corporate income tax experience A professional Canadian accounting designation (CPA) Enrolment in or desire to complete CPA CICA in-depth tax courses Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects with deadlines Demonstrated strong work ethic and attention to detail Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work both independently and within a team environment Must have experience with preparation of tax provision and tax returns Familiarity with TaxPrep, tax return preparation software, is beneficial
