In this role, you will support development initiatives across Canada which includes approximately $1.0 Billion in projects currently underway as well as a Development Pipeline in excess of $8.0 Billion.You will be a key member of an engaged, high-reaching team\xe2\x80\x94part of a world-class, winning culture that prioritizes people development and focuses on long-term growth.   • Underwriting real estate development opportunities by assisting in the creation of proforma financial models for existing and/or future projects, across multiple product types (multi-family residential, office, life sciences, and retail);
  • Running lease and cost sensitivity analyses for development projects;
  • Assisting in the preparation of presentations to Oxford\xe2\x80\x99s Investment Committee and co-owners;
  • Working with Oxford\xe2\x80\x99s Investment team to underwrite potential development related acquisitions;
  • Liaising with internal and external groups to gather supporting details and information for various development projects/opportunities;
  • Researching and collecting information to underwrite potential pre-development projects and potential new opportunities;
  • Providing analytical support to Development and Construction leads for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting as well as accruals;
  • Insightfully discussing and interpreting results, identifying key development considerations and risks; and
  • Helping develop the technical skills and real estate knowledge of the Analyst team.
To succeed in this role, you have / are:
  • Undergraduate degree, with preference to Real Estate, Urban Planning/Development, Commerce, Economics, or Finance programs;
  • 0-1 years of work experience (including internships) in real estate development/investments/asset management, private equity, investment banking, or professional advisory;
  • Possession of (or working towards) a professional designation considered an asset but not required;
  • Strong understanding of fundamental real estate and financial concepts and terminology;
  • Exceptional communication (verbal & written), interpersonal, problem solving, and project management skills;
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling);
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a high level of attention to detail;
  • Capacity to work well under pressure with multiple competing deadlines; and
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
