Hybrid Work Model

What is in it for you?
Reporting to the Associate Director, Loans Accounting, the Analyst will work with a team of individuals who are responsible for supporting the accounting, valuation and control requirements of the North American Private Fixed Income portfolios for Sun Life General Account and Third Party Investors. This will include financial, statutory, regulatory, internal and client reporting. The incumbent will further the development of highly efficient processes while maintaining and enhancing a strong internal control environment. This will be accomplished through a thorough knowledge of accounting, the systems the investments are administered on, and through effective mentoring of the members of the team.
What will you do?
Accounting and reporting of loan assets for institutional investors including creating daily movement file that includes accrued interest calculations and producing fund trial balances on daily and monthly basis
Perform control checks such as detailed valuation and trial balance analysis for the pooled funds to ensure accurate Net Asset Values are sent to Fund Administrator
Complete monthly financial reporting and adhoc requests
Design and create Tableau Dashboard for monthly reporting and trending analysis including KPI analysis
Perform updates of queries and reports to the new SAP General Ledger
Partner with Robotic team to identify opportunities and recommend solutions to maximize efficiency
What do you need to succeed?
Working towards CPA designation with 2-3 years of accounting experience
Ability to take initiative and work independently
Quick learner, self-motivated and adaptable
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel)
Experience with Excel Power tools, Tableau, or Dashboard tool would be an asset
Unique Requirements:
Peak demand for reporting and analysis information at monthly and quarterly intervals results in potential overtime
7.5 hour standard work day, however flexibility is required to work 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
