An established player in the Canadian markets, NBF is committed to adding high calibre resources to its Corporate and Investment Banking (aAEURAoeCIBaAEURA) group. This group currently consists of over 170 professionals located in offices in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, and New York. The Loan Structuring & Syndication (aAEURAoeLSSaAEURA) group, operating within the CIB group, is a team of over 15 professionals that covers corporate clients across Canada. LSS has demonstrated considerable momentum over the last few years, which culminated in achieving record deal flow in fiscal 2021.

The LSS group is looking for an Analyst, Loan Structuring and Syndication, located in Toronto. Your role will involve the preparation of syndicated lending materials to be presented to existing and potential clients with an emphasis on financial analysis, written presentations and the maintenance of pitch resources and benchmarking databases

Your role:

  • Assist in a wide variety of syndicated loan transactions headed by senior and intermediate members of the group
  • Preparation of syndicated lending materials to be presented to existing and potential clients with an emphasis on financial analysis, written presentations and the maintenance of market comparables, pitch resources and benchmarking databases
  • Assist in review of deal documents including term sheets, mandate papers and credit agreements on NBF-led deals
  • Prepare submissions for league table reporting
  • Other various responsibilities as directed
You will report to the Managing Director & Head of the Loan Structuring & Syndication group and work within a team of highly motivated professionals, with the opportunity to collaborate with other NBF groups, including investment banking, debt & equity capital markets, corporate banking and risk management solutions and will learn about a broad range of capital markets products and services.

Qualifications:

The LSS Analyst position will appeal to highly motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in an entrepreneurial and high-energy environment.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g. B.Comm., B.B.A.) (relevant professional experience considered an asset)
  • Professional designation is an asset (e.g. CPA, CFA).
  • Excellent numerical and analytical abilities
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills (fluent in French is an asset)
  • Outstanding records of academic performance
  • Well-developed computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Keen and demonstrated interest in business and finance
  • Positive can-do attitude
Preferred Competencies:
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to present concise and well-structured information or analyses
  • Technical background with strong computer skills is a strong asset
