Summary of Duties


Provides LIS support to both internal and external users, reporting directly to the LIS Manager Supports projects to implement the objectives of the Precision Diagnostics and Therapeutics Program Areas of Responsibility include, but are not limited to, supporting both WellSky Transfusion and CoPath LIS', LIS maintenance, creating validation protocols, software and hardware testing, data retrieval, documentation & developing operating policies and procedures, server support Develops staff training protocols Communicates and liaises with laboratory staff, Medical/Scientific staff, management, Information Service's employees and external stakeholders Organizes and prioritizes workflow as required Adheres to laboratory quality management system Provides leadership through mentorship and sharing of knowledge Works collaboratively with staff within the Precision Diagnostics and Therapeutics Program


Qualifications/Skills


3 years recent hospital laboratory experience in a hospital Blood Bank Lab, with current CMLTO registration required Laboratory information system experience with WellSky Transfusion preferred Experience with CoPath and Sunquest Lab an asset Computer skills including Microsoft Office and SQL database management (ie SSRS) preferred Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills Demonstrates excellent leadership and interpersonal skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to analyze and resolve integration issues between interfaces and applications Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to work with a diverse group of end users in a collaborative manner Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines * Other duties as required
