As a critical member of the Government Partnerships (GP) team within the Resource Development (RD) Department, you will play a key role in contributing to the achievement of stewardship and revenue goals for the GP team. Reporting to the Director, Government Partnerships, you will have administrative, operational, and strategic responsibilities—with the opportunity to engage in all aspects of GP and fund development.As the successful candidate, you bring experience across a broad range of government relations, are a natural researcher, communicator in written and speaking mediums, and appreciate how government relations are a critical enabler to the organization's continued success.What You'll Do

  • Project manage current government funding agreements and applications for new or renewed funding, and assist in preparation of reports and proposals to various levels of government.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in various departments to ensure consistent and cohesive attention to current funding agreements and adequate preparation for proposals and reports.
  • Provide up-to-date knowledge and analysis of Government and Public Affairs issues across Canada to inform Pathways' strategic direction and funding opportunities.
  • Assists the Director of Government Partnerships to initiate and cultivate relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Supports the Director of Government Partnerships and Senior Leadership to execute advocacy and thought leadership initiatives.
What You Bring
  • 1-3 years' experience working in government, government relations role and/or the non-profit sector.
  • Post-secondary education and/or training in Political Science or a related discipline.
  • Good understanding of Canadian politics and funding models at the federal, provincial and municipal level.
  • Excellent research and analysis abilities; able to source and collate relevant information into internal reports and tracking systems.
  • Technologically savvy; adept at Microsoft suite, creating impactful reports and presentations, and experience navigating social media platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to communicate across departments and teams as well as externally with bureaucrats and elected officials.
  • Interest in making an impact by working in a non-profit, education-related charity.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) would be a great asset.
