Job Summary Our company is searching for a highly analytical and detail-oriented financial analyst who will report directly to the Manager, FP&A. This role will analyze the company\'s financial and operating performance by completing and maintaining periodic financial and non-financial metrics and KPIs. Additionally, this role will gather financial data (e.g. labor costs, fuel spend, etc.) and conduct variance analysis, scenario analysis, etc.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to management
  • Analyze current business and system processes for potential areas for improvement
  • Develop new reports and ensure accuracy of data and analysis
  • Determine standard costs and investigate variances with actual costs
  • Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs
  • Produce periodic reports, including KPIs, financial and non-financial results and analytical metrics
  • Experience with SQL programming or other database query knowledge for database modeling
  • Help all business users achieve maximum utilization of systems to achieve process improvements and identify and communicate opportunities for automation
  • Produce necessary system, process and testing documentation
  • Assist with development and testing of controls for internal processing
  • Create efficiencies and streamline process focused on user ease and prevention of process error
  • Work with end users and ensure that newly operationalized processes are fully and effectively implemented
  • Track and report on any savings/ cost avoidance generated

Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Financial Analyst or Public Accounting experience
  • Successful completion of post-secondary studies at a university level in the area of Business Administration, Computing and Financial Management
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or working towards the accounting designation
  • Strong analytical sense, with excellent attention to detail
  • Proven ability to be self-driven, capable of adapting to change and simultaneously managing multiple tasks/ projects/ assignments
  • Ability to manage project milestones and risks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work with and manage confidential information and use independent judgment
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

Preferred
  • Previous experience in corporate and supply chainlogistics environment would be considered an asset
  • Experience with application conversion and process re-engineering
  • Proven ability to work using Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Experience working with WMS OR TMS software
