Overview:
We are currently seeking an energetic and collaborative individual to join our team as an Analyst , Energy Transition. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who likes intellectually challenging work in a collaborative environment that fosters innovation and creativity.


Reporting to the Manager of Energy Transition, the Analyst will provide support to Senior Advisors and Advisors on strategic initiatives related to energy transition planning, supporting the efficient integration of electric vehicles, and sector partnerships. The work of the Analyst will include research and analysis, drafting written materials such as briefing notes and presentations, project management, and support for stakeholder engagement. The Analyst will support senior staff in collaborating with stakeholders and leading stakeholder consultations and will provide support to develop policy recommendations to keep pace with a changing energy sector.

  • Monitor the energy sector in Ontario and other jurisdictions to ensure awareness of key policy developments
  • Identify trends and events that could have significant policy implications for Ontario\'s energy sector
  • Research and analyze issues relating to innovation, new technologies, energy transition and electrification
  • Assist in the development of policy recommendations by conducting research, preparing, and analyzing data
  • Assist in the development of workplans to support the work of internal multi-stakeholder teams
  • Support stakeholder consultations, meetings, and working groups to gather emerging trend information and identify issues
  • Record and consolidate stakeholder feedback for use in the development of policy options and recommendations
  • Work with Public Affairs to develop and maintain stakeholder engagement platforms and communication materials related to Strategic Policy initiatives
  • Prepare status reports for key initiatives and assist project leads in ensuring work advances according to plan
  • Work closely with other departments on technical and administrative projects
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Public Policy, Commerce, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline
  • A graduate degree or professional designation is preferred
  • 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working in strategic policy or energy policy development
  • Experience working within a regulated industry, regulatory body and/or public utility is preferred
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills to plan, prioritize, and organize work in an accurate and detailed manner
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
