In this role you will be responsible for the execution of low to complex purchase requisitions to purchase order conversion with a focus on ensuring compliance and maximizing value/savings for the business. The key success to this position will be your ability to deliver consistent results, drive continuous improvement, build credibility with business stakeholders, and demonstrate a high level of energy and a "can do" attitude.

Reporting to the Superintendent, Sourcing. Your remit will include but not be limited to:
  • Process and analyze low to high complexity purchases, which include mine site consumables, repairable components, capital, and operational purchases as well and items being shipped up on our Winter Road.
  • Conduct multiple quote market testing for purchases.
  • Engage in one off sourcing projects to maximize value/savings for the business.
  • Identify business improvement opportunities to generate value/savings eg: automation.
  • Process urgent requests in a timely fashion, while ensuring compliance
  • Monitor buy channel compliance and work with end users to ensure process is followed
  • New and current vendor management \xe2\x80\x93 account set ups, changes, and creating relationships.

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Previous experience in a "Buy" role (highly desirable)
  • Working knowledge of the Purchase to Pay processes.
  • Strong understanding of SAP and Ariba or similar enterprise software
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated skills in working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholder groups identifying true value through business improvements ideas.
  • Experience analyzing data and defining gaps/opportunities/savings.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently.
Northern residency and experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the North, are assets.
