Join our Finance team at this exciting time and apply for the Analyst, Accounts Payable role.

What you will do

As the Accounts Payable Analyst, you will review and analyze TTC's invoices and expenses. Ensure invoices for goods and services that the TTC has purchased, are accurate with what was ordered; correct quantities have been received; and prices are accurate and that payments are processed in accordance with company guidelines. You will also be responsible for ensuring procedures for the Accounts Payable section are developed and kept current.



Monitor the workflow approval process for invoices to improve efficiency, reduce errors, enhance cashflow management to strengthen vendor relationships and increase transparency.



Analyze various Accounts Payable metrics and reports to monitor KPIs, identify issues, and uncover trends contributing to aged or unpaid invoices. This role is imperative in making sure finances are accurate and the section meets all the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) identified by senior management.



You will participate in business process analysis in a financial environment in collaboration with team members and Business Support resources to understand opportunities for system and process enhancements that can make for a more efficient and controlled financial process. Participate in the technical aspects of the process for Accounts Payable by communicating with the Manager in case of any technical glitches that will not allow the targets to be met.



You will assess and prevent unauthorized use of the company's funds in addition to maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. In this position you will interact with the Accounts Payable supervisors and staff, Procurement & Category Management, Materials Management, Commercial Management, as well as management of user groups for issues management and escalation.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in Accounting or a related discipline, along with relevant experience with Accounts Payable functions; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent. Must have experience directly related to processing Accounts Payable in a multi-unit, high volume business environment with a thorough understanding of Accounts Payable best practices, procedures and regulations. Previous experience using Industrial Financial Solutions (IFS) is an asset. Detailed understanding and enforcement of the Procure to Pay process and associated policies. Must have experience in the use of computers and software applications related to Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis in Excel, including the transfer, download, export/import of data and data management. Must be highly detail-oriented and have the capability to routinely perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. Strong written, verbal and oral communication skills with ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels of the Commission, including external contacts. Strong customer service skills to resolve questions from users and/or vendors, sent via email or phone calls. ighly effective organizational skills and a self-starter. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to identify anomalies in data, and provide pragmatic solutions quickly and effectively. Proven research and reconciliation skills by exercising independent judgment to resolve Accounts Payable related issues. Experience in a financial accounting role where process improvements were identified and resolved. Ability to work in an organization with a continuous improvement mind-set to reduce paper, perform more efficiently and eliminate risk. Effective time management skills with experience in a fast paced environment, managing tight deadlines and quick turnaround for multiple deliverables, demonstrating a "hands on" approach where necessary to enable the team to meet all of its objectives. Ability to work independently and/or in a team collaboratively. Ability to perform duties using best judgment and decision-making skills while enforcing company policies. Experience managing projects or participating in project initiatives. Willingness and ability to travel to different work locations as required. Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
