The Ministry of Education, Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf in Milton, Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch, require ASL-English Interpreters to provide interpreting services in educational and resource services programs for students and staff who do not share the same language or culture.

Mandatory requirements



Degree or Diploma in ASL-English Interpreting Fluency in American Sign Language and English

Knowledge and Skills:




Your background and experience enables you to meet the following requirements:



Ability to interpret in a wide range of formal, informal, educational and professional settings. Knowledge and understanding of the Professional Code of Ethics of the Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters (CASLI). Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of Deaf culture. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience interpreting in both small and large group settings.
