As a key member of the Marketing, Communications, & Volunteer Engagement team, you will oversee the meaningful engagement of Pathways alumni and the implementation of an alumni engagement strategy to strengthen the Pathways Alumni Network.Serving as the primary liaison between Pathways Canada and Pathways alumni, you will develop alumni relationships locally, regionally, and nationally. You will focus on managing cross-departmental initiatives that pertain to alumni within Pathways Canada, specifically, the identification and coordination of alumni involvement in Pathways events and opportunities. You will also manage alumni interns and be the primary relationship manager (Pathways volunteer champion) for alumni volunteers.As the successful candidate, you bring community engagement and digital mobilization experience, as well as a demonstrated customer service skillset. You are a strong communicator and collaborator and have experience working with people from marginalized backgrounds in cross-cultural environments.What You'll Do
Advise on and implement sustainable alumni programming, engagement, and outreach in relation to Pathways' strategic plan and the volunteer engagement and alumni engagement strategies

  • Manage inquiries and concerns raised by Pathways alumni with tact, privacy considerations, and exceptional customer service
  • Steward alumni volunteers (including Alumni Advisory Committee and Alumni Ambassadors) through the volunteer engagement cycle
  • Identify and implement processes and procedures to streamline day-to-day alumni engagement activities, informed by industry best practices
  • Evaluate and authorize incoming alumni engagement requests from colleagues based on benefit to alumni, time, and resources required
  • Collaborate with a diversity of internal and external stakeholders to enhance alumni experience through presenting relevant and mutually beneficial opportunities
  • Recruit, onboard, and supervise Pathways alumni interns (up to three cohorts per year, two interns per cohort), providing coaching and feedback regularly
  • Manage alumni records in the Pathways alumni database (HubSpot)
  • Inform Pathways Canada on alumni voice and stewardship needs, using primary and secondary research
  • Occasionally work during the evening and weekend hours and travel within Canada (following provincial health and safety considerations) to facilitate alumni engagement activities
What You Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in community engagement roles, preferably with non-profit organizations (e.g., youth programming, alumni or member relations)
  • 1+ years of experience facilitating large-scale projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • A deep understanding of the systemic barriers faced by youth in low-income communities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
  • Strong customer service and stewardship skills, with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Ability to network, develop, and manage key relationships
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task to meet goals and deadlines
  • Tech-savvy with knowledge of technology for digital community mobilization
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate workflows and processes to streamline operations
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven skills in public speaking, event planning, and meeting facilitation
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Suite, databases, CRM software, email distribution platforms, and survey platforms
  • Strong attention to detail
