Job Description

The Thunder Bay International Airport Authority Inc (TBIAAI) is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team of hard-working Airport Operations Specialists (AOS). As an AOS you will be responsible for maintenance of airport grounds and operations while providing emergency response coverage.

The Thunder Bay Airport is a 24/7 operation, maintained by SHIFT WORK coverage from the AOS group on a 4-on, 4-off schedule.

Job Summary:



Reporting to the Airport Operations Manager, the AOS performs manual work and operates standard and specialized apparatus to provide airport airside & groundside maintenance and airport emergency response services (ERS).

This position is a unionized position, and subject to the AOS job description and the collective agreement in place at the TBIAAI.

As an Airport Operations Specialist (AOS) you will:



safely operate emergency response and snow removal equipment on active runways, aircraft manoeuvring areas and other airport areas and meet emergency response category requirements possess a high level of alertness and concentration provide airport maintenance services participate in the AOS training program to attain AOS certification

Qualifications:



Possession of a valid DZ or AZ driver's license in good standing is preferred Individuals who have experience operating heavy equipment but have not yet attained their DZ or AZ driver's license may be considered Proficiency in Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel and Outlook) Post-secondary education or training specializing in aviation, airport operations, safety management systems, emergency response, and/or other technical disciplines is an asset. Must meet the physical requirements of the AOS position Ability to work in a variety of areas and respond easily to changing priorities Commitment to continuous learning Ability to successfully complete annual certification requirements to maintain certification
Candidates who are offered employment will be required to provide a criminal records check and clean driver's abstract, obtain a radio operator's license, airport restricted security clearance and an airport vehicle operator permit.

Pay: From $33.02 per hour
