We work together with our ownership, communities, stakeholders and industry partners to strengthen Indigenous employee relationships.Job PurposeThe Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is skilled in metal and composite repair, refinishing, painting, machining and wielding, and is responsible for the maintenance and repair of aviation life support equipment, aircraft structures and related components in accordance with Company and Transport Canada approved standards.Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure all tasks assigned are completed efficiently and airworthiness is maintained.
  • Inspect aircraft structures and related components.
  • Restore or repair defects using unique aircraft fastening hardware, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, composite materials, chemicals, adhesives, paint, and textiles.
  • Manufacture and install aircraft structural components for prototype projects.
  • Weld base metals, alloys and casting materials, using oxyacetylene, electrical arc, inert gas and resistance welding techniques and equipment.
  • Manufacture original aircraft equipment, components or replacement items from base metals using special cutting tools, engine lathe and milling machines.
  • Fabricate and repair aircraft structures using composite, fibreglass, textile, leather, plastic, and synthetic components.
  • Conduct corrosion control inspections of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Maintain life support equipment, ejection seats, fire suppression, and oxygen systems.
  • Perform aircraft handling tasks, including parking, towing, marshalling, starting, refuelling, cleaning, and de-icing.
  • Prepare and maintain aircraft documentation and statistical data Work environment.
  • Install, rig, and carry out all other mechanical and structural functions and test in accordance with manufacturer\'s specifications.
  • Work a variety of scheduled shifts as assigned to accommodate maintenance requirements.
  • Complete each task and associated maintenance documentation in an appropriate, safe, and timely manner.
  • Ensure both accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on Aircraft.
  • Travel with aircraft as required.
  • Ensure that all components installed on aircrafts are pre-approved and properly certified.
  • Assist in keeping the maintenance office, hangar, and shop areas clean and ensure equipment is appropriately stored/returned after tasks are completed.

  • Ensure optimal communication with all employees and internal partners.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all Transport Canada rules, regulations and policies.
  • Participate in training and special projects as required.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance and safety programs to promote an incident and injury free culture.
Qualifications Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum three to five years\' progressive experience in general aircraft repair, fabrication, and installation. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
