Position Title: TTC North American Air Specialist
Brand/Department: THE TRAVEL CORPORATION / Air
Reporting to: Air Department Supervisor
Direct Reports: None
Supports: TTC Guests; travel agents; internal staff
Location: Toronto / Remote

POSITION PURPOSE
The Air Specialist handles incoming bookings and service inquiries for airline reservations using Company resources to provide complete and accurate air itineraries for all USA & Canada selling regions (AAT Kings, Brendan Vacations, Contiki Holidays, Insight Vacations, Luxury Gold, Trafalgar Tours, and Cost Saver).

KEY RESULT AREAS & ACTIVITIES PERFORMED

  • Book applicable air itinerary in conjunction with scheduled tours to ensure accurate flight arrivals/departures as well as costing requirements within one hour of receipt of request.
  • Read, understand, and apply contract bulk rules and restrictions including bulk fares, code-shares, routing requirements, ticketing deadlines, changes, and cancellations.
  • Issue airline tickets according to airline and company policies and procedures. Ticket issuance includes Phase IV\'s and exchanges. Provide courteous and prompt response to e-mail, chat, and phone requests for air-programs information from internal and external customers.
  • Courteously communicate with external customers to advise of applicable air itinerary changes resulting from an airline-initiated flight change.
  • Process name corrections in Amadeus, and in-house systems requested by internal and external customers according to airline and company\'s policies and procedures within.
  • Work within team to achieve performance standards for all brands and air department duties.
  • Provide assistance over the phone, chat, email for in-house reservation agents and managers.
  • Process miscellaneous requests including seat assignments, special meals, and email confirmation requests.
  • Process airline schedule changes and inform internal and external customers of changes.
  • Process queues with efficiency and accuracy according to department protocol.
  • Ability to keep open communication with other team members.
  • Work directly with management on problem solving.
  • Maintain the integrity of the company and our airline partners.
  • Be available to work any shift during business hours including rotating weekends.
  • Be available to work overtime when necessary.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
  • Completion of a recognized Travel and Tourism Diploma1 + years travel reservations experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the Amadeus or Sabre air reservations system preferred
  • Knowledge of airport codes
  • Ability to prioritize and to work effectively in teams as well as independently
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy
  • Possess superior organizational communication and customer service skills
