After School Teacher Job Summary
We are seeking after school teachers to join our team. This position requires working from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM every afternoon.
It is a one year term contract. (From Feb 1st 2026 to Janurary 31st 2027)
At Woodpecker Childcare, our teachers play a vital role in shaping the experiences and growth of the children in our care. We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated individuals passionate about working with children and committed to providing a safe, engaging, and educational environment.
Responsibilities for this part-time position include supervising and interacting with children in our after-school program, assisting with homework, leading activities such as arts and crafts, games, and outdoor play, and supporting each child's overall development and well-being. Teachers will also be involved in our beginner chess training program, helping to foster a love for the game and encouraging strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ideal candidates will have prior experience working with children, strong communication skills, and the ability to create a positive and nurturing atmosphere. A background in education or child development is preferred but not required.

- Assess and record students' progress and provide feedback
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Collaborate with other teachers and administrators to enhance the curriculum
Skills
Required:
- ECEA/RA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques
- Criminal background check
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in differentiated instruction
- Knowledge of educational technology tools
- Fluency in multiple languages
