Job Description

Job Title: After School Program Tutor



Hours: 9 - 18 hours/week



Time Frame: Monday - Friday from 3:15pm-6:45pm



Location: Eva Rothwell Centre - 460 Wentworth St. N



Accountability:

The After School Program Tutor will report directly to the Program Manager of the Eva Rothwell Centre.

Key Responsibilities:



Lesson/program planning, managing daily setup and clean-up, and photo documentation of the experiences to be used as a program evaluation tool. Creating and executing personalized lesson plans for students in grades 5 through 8 in a one-on-one capacity. Encouraging and promoting participation in engaging educational activities and exercises. Following and upholding the Eva Rothwell Centre's Vision, Mission, and Core Values. Providing leadership, direction, and daily management in alignment with the Mission, Core Values, policies, and procedures of the Eva Rothwell Centre. Acting as a positive role model while providing assistance and support to staff, children, and families. Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:



Experience facilitating children's programs and/or working with children. Experience tutoring children and youth. The ability to tutor students in French is an asset.

Special Requirements:



First two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination required (prior to start of employment). Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Certification. Police Vulnerable Sector Check will be required. High Five - Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification (Recreation Quality Assurance Standard) is an asset. Food Handler's Certificate is an asset. Experience teaching French is an asset
