The Opportunity





The YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick is seeking a motivated and experienced After School Program Supervisor to provide leadership and oversight to high-quality after school programs. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional care, service, and support for program participants and their families.



The Supervisor will lead program marketing, set-up, and day-to-day operations, including the recruitment, supervision, and development of staff. This position plays a key role in ensuring program stability, consistency, and continuous improvement. The role requires regular on-site presence to support effective program delivery and staff engagement.




Responsibilities





Ensure compliance with New Brunswick Child Care Standards and YMCA policies and guidelines Develop and implement child-centred programs aligned with YMCA values and New Brunswick standards Oversee day-to-day program operations and act as the primary point of contact for participants, families, and referrals Promote programs within the community and support recruitment initiatives Ensure all program requirements are met, including space, materials, equipment, and snacks Administer programs and maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with YMCA policies Uphold and enforce YMCA Child Protection policies and procedures Monitor program and centre metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements to meet targets Collaborate closely with other YMCA departments to support programming at assigned sites Facilitate team-building activities for staff and program participants Build and maintain strong partnerships with the Anglophone South School District Maintain open and effective communication with families, staff, and community partners, addressing concerns in a timely manner Recruit, supervise, schedule, and manage After School staff, including performance management and training Manage centre budgets and ensure financial targets and operational efficiencies are met Implement and monitor curriculum delivery, child protection standards, and licensing and inspection requirements Participate in YMCA training and professional development opportunities Support and assist with other centre operations and duties as required



Skills and Qualifications






Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate or Diploma required Minimum of two (2) years of experience in child care or after-school programming Demonstrated experience supervising staff, including recruitment, hiring, training, and performance management Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and remain productive in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Strong knowledge of the New Brunswick Curriculum Framework; familiarity with A Place to Connectis considered an asset Valid First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain Reliable transportation is required Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and clearance from the Department of Social Development
