The After School Program Staff play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of children within our school programs. This position involves working closely with students to facilitate learning, provide tutoring, and create a positive and engaging environment. Ideal candidates will have a passion for education and experience working with children, particularly in early childhood education settings. Applicants must have a valid Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Check. Multiple days available M-F is an asset.

- Beachy Cove Elementary (M-F)
- Holy Trinity Elementary (M-F)
- Macdonald Drive Elementary (Tuesday/Thursday)
- Mary Queen of Peace Elementary (M-F)
- Rennie's River Elementary (M-F)
Duties
Assist in the implementation of educational activities and programs for children.
Provide one-on-one or small group homework help to enhance students' understanding of various subjects.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages children's participation and growth.
Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing feedback to educators and parents as necessary.
Collaborate with other staff members to develop strategies that meet the diverse needs of students.
Maintain a clean and organized learning space conducive to educational activities.
Engage children in meaningful conversations that promote their social and emotional development.
Qualifications
Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is preferred.
Background in tutoring or teaching is highly desirable.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices is a plus.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
A genuine passion for educating and nurturing young minds.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
