15 hours per week; 3:00pm to 6:00pm; Monday to Friday, all school days.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of Students
: Ensure the safety and well-being of children during after-school hours. This includes monitoring their activities and behavior to maintain a safe environment.
Activity Planning and Implementation
: Develop and implement engaging educational and recreational activities that promote learning and personal growth. This may include arts and crafts, sports, homework assistance, and leadership development.
Communication with Parents and Staff
: Maintain open lines of communication with parents regarding their children's progress and any issues that arise. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive program.
Program Development
: Assist in the creation and evaluation of program curricula to meet the needs and interests of the children. This includes adapting activities based on feedback and assessments.
Compliance and Safety
: Ensure that all activities comply with relevant regulations and safety standards. This includes maintaining a clean and organized environment and following health and safety protocols.
Record Keeping
: Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and program evaluations to track the effectiveness of the program and ensure accountability.
REQUIREMENTS:
At least 19 years of age
Current (not more than 1 year old) Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
Reliable transportation a must. Would prefer person have own vehicle. School positions mainly on east side of Saskatoon but may include north end location.
SKILLS:
Experience with Children
: Prior experience working with school-age children is often required, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Organizational Skills
: Ability to plan and implement activities effectively while managing time and resources efficiently.
Leadership Abilities
: Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate children and staff, ensuring a positive and productive environment.
