Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated After school program leads to join our team to run our hands on biology after school programs in Burlington schools. As a After school Program Lead, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and educational environment for children. You will be responsible for leading activities, providing guidance, and fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages personal growth and teamwork among the students.

Responsibilities

Supervise and engage with students during various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Instruct and run the experiment or activity of the day. Ensure a background in the subject is provided and sufficient help is provided to the kids to complete their experiments. Foster a supportive environment by encouraging kids to participate, express themselves, and develop new skills. Communicate effectively with the students and fellow staff members to ensure a cohesive experience. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the space used, including equipment and supplies.

Requirements

Experience working with children in a camp or educational setting is preferred. Background in early childhood education or science/biology is preferred Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire children of various ages. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities. A passion for educating children through interactive play and structured activities. Must be able to commit to the entire duration of the after school program term (8 weeks).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
