Position Overview:

The After School Program Leaders are responsible for creating a safe, fun and inclusive environment for all participants. Planning and facilitating an after school program that aligns with the Nova Scotia Before & After Program values and that facilitate growth and development in: Movement & Physical Activity, Physical Literacy, Outdoor Play, Inclusion & Cultural Development.

The position requires individuals who enjoy physical activity, sport and/or recreation. Leaders will plan and deliver of a variety of outdoor/indoor physical and recreational activities for school-aged children (ages 4-14). Successful candidates should be available to work 1-5 shifts per week (3 hours per shift, 2pm-5pm), up to a maximum of 15 hours per week during school year.

We are hiring leaders for the following schools:

Clark Rutherford Memorial School,

Champlain Elementary School,

Bridgetown Regional Community School and

Lawrencetown Consolidated School.

Qualifications:

High energy individual with a positive outlook and the passion with experience in planning and delivering outdoor/indoor recreational/physical programs & activities to children/youth (ages 4-14years)

Experience leading outdoor nature programs & activities are also an asset.

Academic experience in Recreation or Early Childhood Educator preferred (or equivalent)

Successful applicants must provide Child Abuse Registry Check or Vulnerable Sector Security Check, WHMIS 2015 certification and First Aid / CPR certification.
