The Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County (MCC) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated After School Program Facilitator (between 2:30 and 6:00pm) to support the delivery of high-impact programming for children enrolled in Ignite Academy, a collaborative initiative with ProsperUs. The Facilitator plays a vital role in fostering academic, emotional, and social development through structured activities in literacy, numeracy, STEM, arts and culture, physical activity, and life skills.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education:
University degree or post-secondary diploma in Education, Child & Youth Care, Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Education (ECE), or a related field
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Knowledge & Expertise:
Prior experience working with children in a related setting
Proven ability to implement educational programs for youth
Understanding of childhood development and age-appropriate programming
Experience supporting diverse populations and addressing youth-related issues
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and external partners
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to design a comprehensive year-long curriculum aligned with Ignite Academy goals
Strong planning, facilitation, and communication skills (verbal and written)
Comfortable working independently and with minimal supervision
Creativity, energy, and passion for youth engagement (e.g., arts & crafts, sports, STEM activities)
Familiarity with the ethno cultural communities in Windsor-Essex is an asset
Other Requirements:
Valid Level 3 Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance (must be renewed every 3 years)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Delivery:
Facilitate daily sessions, execute planned activities, and administer evaluation tools
Maintain accurate records of student attendance and complete daily and weekly reports
Submit incident reports as needed and document success stories.
Assist youth with homework, projects, and academic support
Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment
Mentorship & Youth Support:
Provide guidance and mentorship to support emotional and social development
Build trusting relationships with participants and serve as a positive role model
Program Operations:
Set up and clean up the facility before and after sessions
Prepare and distribute healthy snacks, accommodating dietary restrictions
Procure and manage program materials and supplies
Reporting & Administration:
Submit monthly reports and track program statistics as per funding requirements
Support the Program Manager with administrative and clerical duties
Ensure confidentiality of participant information
Other Duties:
Attend MCC meetings, community events, and professional development as needed
Participate in outreach and promotional activities
Perform other duties as assigned
