Job Description

West Point Grey Academy is currently seeking two After School Care Coordinators for the 2025-26 School Year. These is a part-time position, approximately 15 hours per week, from 2:30 to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with additional hours scheduled for child care on early dismissal days and professional development (Pro-D) days. Note: This program follows the school calendar; shifts are only scheduled while school is in session.

WPGA's After School Care Program for children is an optional program for students in grades Kindergarten to Grade 5. After School Card Coordinators plan and lead engaging indoor and outdoor activities for students in this program.



Successful candidates will be expected to agree to have a Criminal Record Check initiated by West Point Grey Academy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities Daily set up and take down of equipment Provide active supervision to ensure children are accounted for at all times Build and maintain respectful relationships with children Help children navigate conflict and role model positive behaviours Document behaviour and interactions of children when necessary and report concerns to the Junior School Leadership Team Maintain a clean and safe environment for children to play Build positive relationships with children and their families Assist with activity set up and take down as required





QUALIFICATIONS



Must be 19 years of age Experience working or volunteering with children Completion of a 20-hour responsible adult course, or a combination of courses at least 20 hours in duration in child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition (or alternative training) Emergency First Aid & CPR in accordance with Schedule C of the Child Care Licensing Regulation (can be taken after start date)




WORKING CONDITIONS



Work hours are 2:30 to 5:30 pm on days when school is in session (program runs to 5:00 pm) * Shifts scheduled when school is in session
