Overview of the Role



Reporting to the Human Resources Manager of the Tavistock and St. Mary's locations, the incumbent will be closely involved in maintaining a work environment conducive to team development and the achievement of strategic and operational objectives by partnering with managers and employees. They will be actively involved in the day-to-day management of HR activities such as employee relations, talent development, workforce planning, performance management and compliance, while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. The Advisor will act as an ambassador for the culture and values promoted by the organization.


Schedule

: Monday to Friday.


Salary

: $66,900 to $87,890 per annum. Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills and training.


How you will make contributions that matter:



Strategic HR Support



Partner with the HR Manager to align HR initiatives and business goals. Build quality and sustainable working relationships with employees at all levels, providing advice and guidance on a range of HR related policies and procedures to support understanding and ensure effective communication of good HR practices. Contribute to workforce planning, talent development and organizational effectiveness. Analyze HR data and provide insights to support decision-making. Undertake projects with HR Team which will support business priorities and/or improve the effectiveness of HR, such as onboarding, training, communication of new HR practices and policies.

Employee Relations & Engagement



Support, advise and guide on employee relations matters and HR practices, procedures and performance issues, escalating complex matters to the HR Manager. Support performance management processes and conflict resolution. Support the development of strong communication and feedback channels with all employees to support employee engagement.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding



Ensure the completion of the internal and external recruitment process in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team. Support managers in welcoming and integrating new employees; facilitate and coordinate new hire orientation.

HR Operations



Provide day-to-day HR support to employees, supervisors and managers. Assist with payroll and benefits inquiries in coordination with relevant teams. Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement efforts. Ensure all virtual employee records (Workday HRIS) are accurate and up to date. Manage leaves of absence process from claim submission through Return to Work. Maintain regular floor presence to promote positive employee relationships. Support site social events activities and collaborate with Social Events Committee.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:



University degree/college diploma in human resources management or a related field. 3 to 5 years of human resources experience; ideally in a manufacturing/warehouse or office environment. Working knowledge of human resources and applicable laws and regulations related to employee relations, benefits, pay and health and safety. Great organizational skills, versatility, accountability, sense of initiative and discretion. Acute sense of prioritization and time management. Team-oriented while being able to work independently. A field personwith strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, One Note, Teams, Outlook). CHRP/CHRL designation is an asset.
