With over 1,600 stores in all 10 provinces, you may know us as Sobeys, Safeway, IGA, Foodland, FreshCo, Thrifty Foods, Lawtons Drug Stores or another of our great banners but we are all one extended family.Ready to Make an impact?Reporting to the Director, Internal Communications, the Advisor, Events and Employee Engagement, will work closely with members of the Internal Communications team, senior leaders, and cross functional teams to plan and deliver best-in-class events and communications activities that support our business strategy, enable employee engagement, and elevate our corporate brand.Here\'s where you\'ll be focusing:

  • Lead the strategy, design, execution, and measurement of corporate events within the Corporate Communications events calendar (town halls, conferences, leadership offsites, office events and virtual meetings.)
  • Act as internal expert with current knowledge of best practices and trends pertaining to employee engagement initiatives, and use this information to proactively identify opportunities, make recommendations and partner with members of the Internal Communications team to deliver and measure success.
  • Manage internal events and communications that bring our values and culture to life on our internal communications channels (Viva engage campaigns, contests, employee engagement tactics.)
  • Project manage all aspects of corporate events, including audiovisual, branding, venue selection, travel and accommodation oversight, registration, catering, , transportation, coordinating with vendors and offices services.
  • Maintain project timelines, status reports and budget for all assigned events.
  • Proactively research, recommend, select, and manage network of trusted vendors to support all elements of eventing.
  • Act as the key contact for outside vendors and ensure they are meeting expectations within allocated budgets.
  • Guide and support Corporate Events Committees operating in each office.
  • Ensure the corporate brand is well represented at events, adhering to strict brand guidelines.
  • Lead on-site support for leadership and event attendees.
  • Create event logistics attendee communications (including information such as registration, accommodations, transportation, etc.)
  • Coordinate multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and business objectives.
  • Continually monitor and evaluate the impact of events and employee engagement strategies and implement lessons learned.
What you have to offer:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in communications or management.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in meeting planning/event management for C-suite executives within a large matrix organization.
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation or related industry experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with individuals at senior levels inside and outside of the organization.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with project management software.
  • Experience in graphic design and video production an asset.
  • Must be able to work within tight deadlines, with multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and written in English is required. French is an asset.
