Advisor, Business Development

Full-Time Temporary Employment \xe2\x80\x93 One (1) Year Contract \xe2\x80\x93 co-funded with University of Alberta

The successful candidate should be a self-motivated field-oriented independent professional with solid business development skills, business experience, and a strong scientific background. They will be confident and proficient in dealing with key stakeholders from government, industry, and academia, and will possess a commitment to facilitating the development of multi-disciplinary research collaborations with diverse partners in industry and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with members of Mitacs Business Development, Research, and Programs teams to deliver high\xe2\x80\x90quality programming with University researchers and Community Organizations
  • Create and maintain a network of partners/clients in industry and academia
  • Introduce companies to various Mitacs events and programs
  • Introduce companies to various university researchers
  • Collaborate with Mitacs staff and/or university staff to organize scientific events including aspects related to networking with clients, scientific planning, logistics, and funding
  • Providing support to the greater Business Development Team as needed
  • Providing business development support to all Mitacs programs as needed
Training:
  • Recent Masters or PhD (1-2 years)
  • Social Science/Public Health/Health Science background preferred
  • University of Alberta graduate preferred

  • Desire to pursue a career outside of research and academia
