Kirkness Group of Companies is seeking a creative and versatile

Advertising Copywriter and Media Writer

to support its diverse portfolio of businesses. In this role, you will plan, research, and produce persuasive copy and engaging content tailored to different industries, ensuring each company's unique services and strengths are communicated clearly and consistently.

You will manage digital content and brand presence across multiple platforms, including websites, blogs, social media, and advertising campaigns. The role combines creativity with strategy and requires adaptability to work across a variety of sectors -- from construction and paving to aviation and agriculture.

Role is primarily office-based, with limited hybrid flexibility by agreement. Standard business hours, with occasional flexibility to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities



Develop and strategize persuasive advertising copy for digital and print campaigns across multiple Kirkness Group companies. Research, write, and edit blog posts, case studies, and service pages tailored to different industries. Build and update company websites and landing pages (WordPress or similar). Plan and manage social media calendars; write and schedule posts for various company accounts. Draft newsletters, client communications, and promotional emails. Conduct research on industry topics (construction, safety, agriculture, aviation, etc.) to ensure factual accuracy. Optimize all web content for SEO to increase visibility and local search rankings. Monitor and report on content performance using analytics tools. Collaborate with management and staff across companies to translate projects into client-facing stories and promotional materials. Maintain consistent brand standards while adapting voice and tone to suit each business. Provide monthly reporting summaries to management to guide marketing strategies.

Skills



Experience with blogging, editorial work, and social media. Graphic design/layout skills for marketing visuals. Familiarity with Google Analytics and online advertising platforms. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Creative Writing, or a related discipline. Additional education in marketing, advertising and/or creative writing. 3 years of related experience in copywriting, content creation, SEO, and digital marketing (or equivalent education/experience). Demonstrated ability to develop and launch websites. A portfolio of written work across web, social, and advertising media. Proficiency with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress) and a working knowledge of SEO. Strong communication, research, and organizational skills. Experience with blogging, editorial work, and social media. Graphic design/layout skills for marketing visuals. Familiarity with Google Analytics and online advertising platforms.
Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
