The AQP Training Coordinator will ensure complete coverage of all planning and execution of schedule for all assigned training courses. The incumbent schedules and coordinates all Advanced Qualification Program (AQP) in-class training courses - AQP101, Introduction to Command Training, Mentor Training, Inter-Rater Reliability Course and Pilot Indoctrination Training. The incumbent will also manage documentation related to the in-class training courses, generate reports for Instructor recurrent training, and set up training rooms for upcoming courses. Responsabilities:
  • Manage the scheduling and coordination of all in-class training courses (AQP101, ITC, Mentor, IRR and PIT).
  • Book facilitators, transportation, and catering for all courses
  • Ability to obtain GTAA signing authority for administration of RAIC requests
  • Schedule GTAA appointments, Flight Dispatch tours, and Management Meet & Greet events
  • Update pilot rosters in Netline scheduling system for pilots attending training courses
  • Book hotels for new-hire pilots attending PIT, as well as line pilots attending recurrent training AQP courses
  • Book all travel (ground transportation and deadhead flights) required for attendance to AQP courses
  • Order, print, and assemble all materials for training courses
  • Maintain and update calendar, training records, attendance, and CBT completions on the company website and the AQP Program SharePoint and Teams site. Endeavour to automate data to provide reporting efficiencies.
  • Act as point of contact for pilots and Instructors on course to address questions or concerns
  • Book meeting boardrooms at off-site locations for training courses
  • Coordinate with numerous Flight Training and AQP department staff to fulfill the training commitment.
  • Assist Manager, AQP, with completion of any assigned training department projects.
  • On behalf of the Sr Vice President, Flight Operations, promote and support safe and efficient flight operations at Air Canada
Qualifications
  • Education: University entrance minimum, university or college diploma preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in both written and oral English at an advanced (University Degree equivalent) level.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, electronic mail efficiently.
  • Strong multitasking as well as teamwork skills to work with various Flight Operations team members in order to collaboratively ensure smooth course progression.
  • Attention to detail and strong preparation skills.
Experience/Business Knowledge
  • Depth of skills and expertise required for the position.
  • 2 years experience in a position involving coordination and the scheduling of activities is desirable.
  • Comprehensive Knowledge of:
  • Excel or other spreadsheets.
  • Proven teamwork and administrative skills.
  • Breadth (the scope) of skills and expertise required for the position.
  • Operational experience in an aviation company with similar role.
  • Previous scheduling experience in a flight training environment is preferred.
  • Range of business/industry knowledge required for the position:
  • Working knowledge of scheduling rules and Collective Agreement.
  • Must demonstrate significant achievements in specific quality areas and/or issues; proven superior interpersonal skills, language skills, team skills, ability to resolve difficult scheduling situations.
