It brings together innovative patient care, ground-breaking research and diverse education to help people overcome or recover from disabling injury, illness or age-related conditions. The Lyndhurst Centre site is one of five Toronto Rehab sites across Toronto. The Lyndhurst Centre specializes in the rehabilitation and treatment of individuals with spinal cord injuries. The centre houses both outpatient clinics and three specialized inpatient units. The goals of spinal cord rehabilitation at Lyndhurst Centre are centered around maximizing functional independence, promoting overall well-being, and improving the quality of life for individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI).Toronto Rehab, Lyndhurst Centre\'s commitment to cutting-edge research, interprofessional care, state-of the-art facilities, international collaboration and patient centered approaches distinguishes it as a leading institution in North America and a global pioneer in the field of Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation.Reporting to the Manager of Professional Practice, the Advanced Practice Nurse Educator (APNE) will be a member of the TR Practice Leadership Team based at the Lyndhurst Centre site. They will be expected to possess a set of core competencies fundamental to developing and advancing best practices at the point-of-care. Key components of the role involves focusing on: staff education and development, together with other educators; promoting and enhancing interprofessional collaboration; facilitating knowledge translation into practice; as well as leadership and change management. The APNE must be proficient in assessing staff learning needs, and be able to develop, deliver and evaluate educational programs. The APNE will also collaborate with unit managers, other educators and stakeholders to support various practice-based or clinical care projects. Finally, the APNE will contribute to scholarship, a culture of inquiry and research, as appropriate.Qualifications
