Advanced Foot Care Nurses
provides both
in-clinic
and
in-home

Position Summary:
The
Advanced Foot Care Nurse
will be responsible for assessing, treating, and educating clients in all aspects of preventive and therapeutic foot care. This position involves both
mobile (in-home)
and
clinic-based
appointments, offering flexibility and a rewarding variety of care environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive nursing foot care assessments and treatments in accordance with best practice and Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) standards.
Provide foot care services to clients with conditions such as diabetes, circulatory issues, calluses, corns, thickened nails, and ingrown toenails.
Educate clients on foot health, footwear, and ongoing preventive care.
Document all client encounters accurately and confidentially using electronic medical record systems.
Maintain infection prevention and control standards at all times.
Collaborate with other health care professionals to support holistic patient care.
Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain advanced foot care certification and stay current with clinical best practices.
Qualifications:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the
Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
.
Completion of a
recognized Advanced Foot Care Certification program
(mandatory).
Current
CPR/First Aid certification
.
Valid
driver's license
and access to reliable transportation (for home visits).
Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
Strong interpersonal and client-centered approach to care.
